TALL POPPIES is a top Auckland Cover / Covers Band, who stand out above other covers bands

because of our incredibly diverse Song List. We have male and female vocalists, with the whole band

 singing backing vocals and harmonies. We provide an exciting live band atmosphere with guitar

/synthesizer, drums and bass guitar. There are no backing tracks as they defeat the whole purpose of

 hiring a “live” band!

TALL POPPIES plays all the favourite retro hits and classics from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and latest Top 40,

 including Rock, Pop, Reggae, Disco, Rock n Roll, R n B and Dance.

You may have seen us playing at Sky City, Cock n Bull (Ellerslie), The Carlton (Newmarket), R’Totos, The Reef Bar (Mission Bay), The Copper

 Room (Takapuna), The Crib in Ponsonby and other popular venues around the “City of Sails’. Top venues we’ve played at, for functions, include

Sky City Convention Centre, The Atrium at Auckland Museum, The Edge, The Wharf, The Rendezvous (Carlton),  The Langham (Sheraton), 

The Pullman (Hyatt Regency), St Matthews in the City, Spencer On Byron, Hammerheads, Romfords, Okahu, ASB Showgrounds, Alexander Park,

Eden Park, Bruce Mason Centre, Harbour Function Centre,  Hopetoun Alpha, Ellerslie Event Centre, Novotel Ellerslie,  Auckland Zoo, Crowne Plaza,

CONCERTS

If you were in Mt Maunganui for the Millennium New Year’s Eve celebration, you would have seen us on the huge outdoor stage, playing to a crowd

 of over 30 000! We were then invited back there for New Year’s Eve 2001, playing to 35 000! The crowd was so huge that the infamous

Mt Maunganui riot happened when TALL POPPIES stopped playing! We also played twice for the Whangamata New Year’s Eve concerts. Still being

as popular as ever, TALL POPPIES were invited back for the Mt Maunganui New Year’s Eve concert as recently as 2008!
